Soldier – Larkin, Arthur – Killed in Action

Private Larkin of 27, Winifred road, Wath, who enlisted July 20, 1917, and went to France in November, was killed in action on Dec. 15.

He was aged 27, single, and formerly worked at Manvers Main. He was one of three brothers serving.

Pte. Jack Larkin has been in the Marines ten years, and is at present stationed with the Fleet.

Pte. James Larkin, who was discharged last December, had served four years in the Marines, and was present at the battle of Jutland. Their parents reside at Canterbury.

A brother-in-law, Bdr. Fred Swinden (R.F.A.) completed his service three weeks’ before the outbreak of war and went out with the original expeditionary force as ‘a reservist. He fought at Mons and is now serving in Italy after being twice wounded.
