Gunner George Albert long (26), only son of Mr and Mrs G Long, of 12 Knollbeck Crescent, Brampton, who is serving in the Middle East, has recently left an Eighth Army rest camp. He has been abroad over two years and is engaged to an Essex girl. When at Brampton Ellis School, Gnr. Long played with the Dearne Valley Yorkshire Schoolboys’ football teams.

His sister, Miss Joan Long, is a Leading Aircraft woman in the W.AAF. Her fiancee, Mr. Charles Smith, Windmill Road, Wombwell Main, was reported missing at Singapore
