Keen Athlete

An old Wathonian abroad is Lce/Cpl George Lord, aged 24, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Lord, 48, Oak Road, Wath. For almost three years he has been serving on the North-West Frontier.

He is a keen athlete and plays soccer, rugby and football, hockey and tennis. He is a proficient swimmer, and has gained a life saving certificate and medals.

While serving with the forces he has won silver cups and other awards for various sporting activities.

His father has served many years on the executive committee of the Wath Aged People’s Treat Fund.
