News from Prisoner

Letters saying that he was very fit, and a photograph taken in Germany, have been received by Mr. A. Mangham, 18, Foundry Lane, Mexborough, from his son Gnr. John  (24), who was taken prisoner in Crete in June last year.

Gnr. Mangham joined up about eight years ago, and had served in the Middle East for the last four years. Although his father hears from him about once a month, so far only one letter from Mr. Mangham has reached its destination and many parcels which have been sent have never been received by Gnr. Mangham

When he was serving in the Middle East he received the “South Yorkshire Times” each week
