Private Albert Metcalfe, West Melton who was killed in action in France on Sept. 22, was the youngest brother of Mr. Harry Metcalfe.

He is the second brother killed this year, there also being two brothers discharged through wounds, and another one lying wounded in hospital.

Five  in one family who have suffered the horrors of war.

Pte. Metcalfe had been partly brought up from 12 years of age by Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, West Melton, who have also lost two sons and had two wounded.
