Corporal Edward Ernest Riddell
Wath Sanitary Inspector
We regret to record the death on active service of Corporal E.E. Riddell, the Sanitary Inspector of Wath on Dearne, who volunteered for active service soon after the outbreak of hostilities.
Mr Riddell was attached to the Sanitary Section of the R.A.M.C. (T) and his services were highly appreciated over an extensive area in which his duties lay from time to time.
He always spoke hopefully of the result for the Allies, and wrote in a cheery strain and a descriptive manner of his work.
His death will be a loss to Wath Council, the members of which had the highest esteem for him.
He leaves a widow, who is present residing in Llandudno.
