Wath Military Medallist.
It is pleasing to note another winner of the Military Medal, Pte. Frank Townend (S.W.B.), is the the youngest son of Mr. Isaac Townend, Cemetery road, Wath, and has received from-the General Officer commanding the 40th Division mention in the DlN isional Routine Orders for gallant conduct. The Military Medal has. been. awarded Pte. Townsend by the Corps Commander, under authority granted by H. M the King, for devotion to duty and courage displayed during active operations against the enemy on the 2nd, 21th, and 25th Nov., 1917.
He enlisted in May, 1915, and has been serving in France nearly two years. From thoseĀ who have been home on leave and know anything of him, his conduct and bravery have been pronounced as splendid..
