A year’s Continuous Service
Private Walter Watson (K.O.Y.L.I.)
Son of Mr and Mrs James Watson, 14, long Fold, West Melton, has been at the front for 12 months.
He formerly worked at Wath Main, but enlisted soon after the outbreak of war, and has been in some very heavy fighting.
He has enjoyed many narrow escapes, and upon one occasion at all is close buried by the explosion of a shell. But for one slight illness it has enjoyed excellent health throughout the campaign, and is looking forward to his well earned leave.
