Wath Soldier’s Fate.

Pte. Richard Winfield,    14120,D Company, York and Lancaster’s, formerly of Wath on Dearne, who parents now live at 22, Park Street, Saltaire Road, Shipley, enlisted in September 1914 at the age of 17

He served in France as a sniper and scout for ten months, and afterwards as a machine gunner.

He has not been seen since July 1, 1916, but has been variously reported wounded and killed.

If any comrade or re-patriated prisoner can give any information, Private Winfield’s father, who is at present a patient in the Royal infirmary, Bradford, will be very glad to have it.

Private Winfield brother is serving Germany and has recently been distinguishing himself with his football team.

Both of them, and their father, wereformally employed at Manvers Main
