Died Of Wounds
Mr. and of 26, Vicar Road, Wath, have received news that their only son, Gnr. Wm. Richard Wroot (24) has died of wounds received on November 23rd, 1941, in the Libyan campaign.
Gnr W R Wroot was a Rover Scout of the 70th Doncaster Wath National Troop, and had been a member of the troop years.
He served his apprenticeship as a joiner with Mr. Sanderson, of Sandygate, and worked at Whitworth’s Brewery before enlistment.
He was popular with all who came into contact with him, and was of a genial and cheerful disposition.
Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Wroot In their sad loss.
