Military Medals and a Promotion
Second Lieutenant E.W. Laidlaw (York and Lancaster), Bank House, Mexborough, has been promoted Lieutenant.
Sergeant Walter Barraclough (King’s Royal rifles), Kelvin Grove, Wombwell, has been awarded the military Medal for distinguished conduct on the field of August 6 and 7.
Lance Corporal A Mann, 76 Charles Street, has been awarded the military Medal for distinguished conduct in the field during the recent fighting on the Marne. He is 22 years of age, has been services 1940, was wounded at the battle of Cambrai last November.
Before enlistment he was employed at Manvers Main.
