Four sons of Mr Charles Smith of 8 Long fold, West Melton.
The latter has not worked for years; formerly he was a miner at Manvers Main. Three of the sons worked there when war broke out.

The third son, Lance Corporal Charles Smith, lived in Scotland and worked on boats about Ardrossan.

Corporal Herbert Smith was home on leave three months ago. While at home, another brother died at his house.

Lance Corporal Charles Smith, Royal Scots Fusiliers has been missing since September 26th 1915, after the battle of Loos.

Corporal James Smith is at present in hospital at Alexandria, Egypt
