Family Service.

The first Wath girl to join the W.R.N.S. Elsie Cummins (18), daughter of Mr and Mrs. J Cummins, of 14, Burman Road has now completed a year’s service.

She is an officers’ steward, and the youngest of her company.

Before joining the Forces Miss Cummins, an old student of Wath Park Road School and a member of West Street Methodist Church, was a domestic servant.

Her brother William (30) has been in the Fire Service for three years William who is well known in Wath, previously owned a greengrocery business.

Another brother Stanley (24), is in the Pioneer Corps. Before he was called up, two years ago he worked at Doncaster. Pte. Cummins is married.
