Corporal A Crossley

Mr and Mrs Crossley, of Newhill, have been notified of the death of their youngest son, Cpl Arthur Crossley (Northumberland Fusiliers), who was killed in action in France on October 14.

He was home on leave about a month before.

One of his brothers is in Egypt

Corporal Crossley was employed as a blacksmith at Wath Main when he enlisted.

He is also a well-known local footballer. He was 22 years of age.
