Appointment.
Mr. Irving Nicholls. of 54, Park Road, Wath, has been appointed Technical Assistant to the West’s Gas Improvement Co., Ltd., Manchester.
Mr. Nicholls matriculated at Barnsley Grammar School, after which he wa s trained at Sheffield University, where he ob. tsined an Associateship Degree in Fuel Tech: nology last year.
He also holds the final grade certificate of the City and Guilds of London Institute in Coke and By-Product Manufacture, and the Higher Grade Certificate of the Institute of Gas Engineers.
For the last six years Mr. Nicholls has been employed as chemist at Cortonwood Colliery. Since last year he has been a lecturer in Fuel Technology at the Mining and Technical College, Barnsley. Mr. Nicholls was until recently cross-bearer and server at Wath Parish Church
