This photograph taken in Wath about 40 years ago, is of considerable interest in view of Fridays opening of the new country library. The new building stands on the site of the old Gawtress House, seen in this photograph on the extreme right, and there is an echo from the past in the Old Dearne District light railway tram at the Montgomery road stop – and one of the earlier type buses which eventually took over from the tramcars, the photograph has been kindly loaned to us by Mr. Harold Steer of stump cross road, Wath.
