Was it a Rabbit Run ?
William Moorhouse, miner of Wath, was summoned for trespassing in pursuit of game in Wath Wood on December 14.
It appeared from the evidence of Fred Airey, an under keeper for Lord Fitzwilliam, defendant was in Wath Wood on the day named moving about in a suspicious way, and witness determined to watch the place on the next day.
He secured assistance and did so and defendant was caught examining a trap in a hare run.
Defendant said it might be a rabbit run.
He was fined 10 shillings and costs and the trap forfeited.
