Staveley Win at Wath
Some Brilliant Goalkeeping.
Wath 1 Staveley 2
A brilliant goalkeeping display by Crooks, the Staveley Town keeper, earned his side both points at Wath yesterday.
Among other good work he saved a penalty, saved a second shot from the rebound, and was only beaten at the third attempt.
Staveley took the lead through Cropper, but Wheatley equalised with the penalty, and thence onwards the visitors were hardly in the picture.
Throughout the second half, ‘Wath were simply shooting in, but could not get the ball past Crooks. Ten minutes from the end Staveley burst through for Bishop to head into the net.
