Tight Game At Wath
Hickleton Give Little Away
Wath’s home match with Hickleton on Tuesday ended tamely in a draw. Rain held up the start. Hickleton opened quietly. Riley was principal scorer, and when he left seven wickets were down for 64. A bright innings of 34 by Stansfield improved the situation. He hit three fours and two sixes. Overton also hit out for his 38. Feirn (2 for 17) had the best return for Wath who lost two wickets for 10 Hargraves and B. Senior took the score to 79. Senior played a cautious innings for 45. The bowling commanded respect, but little effort was made to force the pace. When seven wickets were down for 113 Pearce hit C. Probert for a couple of fours in one over. Throughout Wath’s innings the Hickleton players were on their toes and gave little away. C. Probert (4 for 54) and R. Probert (2 for 31) made good efforts to force a win.
