Wath Athletic 0 Frickley 3
Both Wath Athletic and Frickley gave a disappointing display in their match at Wath yesterday.
The opening stages were decidedly in Wath’s favour, but after the visitors scored a surprise goal through Greatorex, Athletic seemed to drop right away.
In the second half, Frickley further improved, and a sharp shot Greatorex increased their lead. Soon afterwards, Bell sent in a high curling ball, which completely deceived Whittaker and passed just under the bar. Wath appeared tired and spiritless, and were much slower than Frickley, who played a rigorous, open game, and fully deserved their victory of three goals to none.
