With a much weakened team. Wath did no worse than was expected when they went down at, home by 5-2 to Notts Forest Res.

On the run of the play the visitors deserved the points, though neither team was worth the number of goals scored, most of them being the result of bad defensive work rather than good forward tactics.

The Forest vanguard showed rare speed and enterprise in shooting,  while Topham was easily the most brilliant player on his side in spite of the heavy score against him.

Bancroft (2), Donovan (2), and Dennis netted for the visitors and Wroe and Nunns replied for the home team.
