Wath Athletic 3 Rotherham United Reserves 2
A keenly contested game at Wath resulted in the Athletic beating Rotherham United Res. 3—2.
The homo team did most of the attacking in the first half, but were repulsed by fine defensive work by Dransficld and Best until Hargreaves scored. Later a mistake let in Rotherham, for Orr to level matters easily.
After the interval play was even, but Wath went ahead with goals by both Murdins ( E & L). In this half Rotherham had two penalties, but Whittaker saved Mountenay’s first shot, though was well beaten the second.
