Wath Spring Surprise on Grimsby Reserves.
Wath Athletic 8 Grimsby Town Res 1
The most sensational result in yesterday’s Midland League football was Wath Athletic’s 8-1 home defeat of Grimsby Town Reserves.
Wath Athletic touched by far their best form this season. The visitors were the first to score through Cooper, after Wath had besieged their goal without effect for almost the whole of thirty minutes, but just before the interval Hargreaves scored the equaliser.
In the second half Wath scored regularly about every five minutes, Hargreaves (two), thus completing his “hat-trick.” Williams (three), L. Murdin, and Moore getting the goals.
