Wath Boy’s Achievement

“Fancy a credit in the final at his age! Well done!”

A Mexborough music teacher has written to her pupil, Barry Whitfield (13), only son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Wm. Whitfield 24, Boswell Road, Sandygate, Wath, congratulating him on his success in passing with merit the Singing Grade VIII final of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.

Barry. a pupil at Wath Grammar School, is a singer of considerable promise and he has sung with pronounced success at musical festivals in this area.
