The great feature of the game between Wath and Hickleton was a first wicket partnership of 149 by Smith and Hargreaves. Smith (picture) , who got most of the batting, batted exceptionally well, and was particularly strong on the leg side.

Hargreaves was well caught at cover point at 149 and Smith left a run later.
