A Wath Engagement

The engagement is announced elsewhere in this issue of Miss Mary S. Nicholson, only daughter of Coun. P. B. Nicholson, J.P., and Mrs. Nicholson, J.P., of Brampton and 2nd Lieutenant Dan Scott, B.Sc., youngest son of Mr. D. Scott and the late Mrs. Scott. of Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Miss Nicholson, who is at present a medical officer on the staff of Grantham Hospital, is a graduate of Leeds University and an old pupil of Mexborough Secondary School.

Her parents hold prominent positions in the public life of the district, Coun. Nicholson, being chairman of Wath Urban Council, chairman of Wath Grammar School Governors and a West Riding magistrate, while Mrs. Nicholson, in addition to being a Justice of the Peace, is well known for her social and educational activities.

Lieut. Scott, who is at present serving in the North Staffordshire Regiment, is also a graduate of Leeds University, having taken his B.Sc. degree with First Class Honours in Agriculture.
