There is a Wath interest in the transfer of Police Sergeant Walter Galloway from Honley, Huddersfield, to Worsboro’ where he has taken charge of the police station in place of Police Sergt. Allen.

Sergt. Galloway started his police career at Shipley and afterwards served in the Leeds districts of Stanningley and Pudsey. He was transferred to Wath as sergeant in 1927 and remained there for two and a half years. Sergt. Galloway is a prominent figure in police sports and at one time was a member of the Rotherham Division Police tug-of-war team.
