Wath Woman Who Would Not Bother

Sarah Ann Nash (66) of Wath, was summoned for not having kept a dog, owned by her, under control at 4:15 a.m. on December 24 and for not having a name and address placed on the collar.

It was stated that the daughter of the accused, who did not appear, said the dog was her property, and been summoned she pleaded the dog belonged to her mother.

The mother admitted this was so, and said she had not bothered about the name because the dog was only young. When told she would be reported she replied: “What a bother, I shall not come to court.”

Defendant was fined 7s 6d on each charge, or 15 shillings in total
