Wath Man Marries At Cheltenham
The wedding took place on Saturday at Emmanuel Church, Cheltenham, of Mr. Ronald Smith, only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Smith, 20, Hollowgate Avenue, Wath, to Miss Susan Alsbury, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs L. Alsbury, of 10, Olivemount Road, Cheltenham.
The service was conducted by the Canon E. Hanson.
The bride, given away by her father, wore a full-length dress of, French lace and tulle and headdress of mother-of-pearl with elbow length veil. She carried a shower bouquet of cream tea roses and red carnations with trailing fern.
The Matron of Honour, Mrs. J. Lock, was in a ballerina length dress of pale lemon organza. Her headdress was of white coronet and she carried purple and yellow tulips with arm. Two small maids wore mauve taffeta dresses with mauve flowered head-dresses and white Angora bolero. They carried posies of anemones.
The bride’s mother had chosen a mauve two-piece suit with green accessories and the bridegroom’s mother wore a sage green two-piece with mauve and black accessories.
The best man was Mr. J. W. Deane, of Cheltenham and the groomsman was Mr. R. Walley of Rhyl. The honeymoon is being spent in touring North Wales, the bride travelling in a fitted grey suit with white accessories.
Both bride and bridegroom are Civil Servants at the Foreign Office and from colleagues they received a pressure cooker and a set of saucepans.
