Wedding – Henfrey & Rev Cook

The Rev. Sam Cook, who has for more than three years been curate at Brampton Parish Church, was married there on Monday to a member of the Church, Miss Anne Henfrey, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs G. Henfrey, 28, Cliffe Road, Brampton. Mr. Cook, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Cook, Abbeydale Road, Sheffield, will leave Brampton on December 11th to take up an appointment as curate at St. Peter’s, Mancroft, Norwich.

The bride, who was on West Riding County Council Headship Supply Staff, has taught at Armthorpe, Parkgate Junior Girls’ School (until it closed), and latterly at Thorne Senior Girls’ School (until it closed), and latterly at Thorne Senior Girls’ School. She was given away by her father, and wore a gown of embroidered ivory satin with silver shoes, wreath and veil, and carried a bouquet of pink roses.

Her bridesmaid was Miss Bancroft, of Brampton, who had a dress of pale blue taffeta silk, silver shoes, Juliet cap and veil; her bouquet was of pink carnations.

The best man was Mr. W. Sheldon Hanby (Barnsley), and the groomsmen were Messrs. Ralph Henfrey, F. Kaye and J. Q. Parker (all of Brampton).

The bride left for the honeymoon in a musquash fur coat, with a frock of blue and silver brocade.

There was a large attendance of parishioners for the ceremony.
