Mr. Robert Dawson (West Melton ) and Miss Ruth Hewer (West Melton)
Attired in a quilted gown of white slipper satin with a veil and wreath and carrying a shower bouquet of scarlet carnations, Miss Ruth Hewer, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Hewer, 02, Brampton Road, West Melton, was married at Brampton Parish Church on Tuesday, to Mr. Robert Dawson, second son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Dawson, of 40, Westfield View, West Melton. The service was choral, and Mr. Ivor Moulson was organist.
The bride was given away by her father, and attended by Miss J. M. Hewer and Miss L. Dawson, wearing gowns of pink taffeta with embroidered shoulder veils and coronets of flowers. They carried bronze chrysanthemums.
Their gifts from the bridegroom were diamante necklaces.
Mr. George Turner was best man and groomsman was Mr. Arthur Atkinson.
The bride’s mother received the guests at the Congregational Church Schoolroom wearing a blue dress, while the bridegroom’s mother wore navy. The bride was presented with horseshoes by June Hirst and Barbara Dawson.
Present at the ceremony were members of Brampton N.F.S., to which the bridegroom is attached.
