Miss Irene Lidster, youngest’ daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Lidster, of 5, Park Road, Wath, was married at Wath Parish Church on Tuesday to Mr. Irving Nicholls, youngest son of Mr. and the late Mrs. K Nichollas of 64, Park Road, Wath.

At the choral service Mr. W. 8 Hampshire. (dispenser to Mr. P. E. Norwood, chemist of Wath) was at the organ. The bride was given away by her father and wore a Victorian gown of fine lace with white satin, a veil and wreath of cammelias and carried ivory orchids.

She was attended by Miss Joan Gill. Miss Gladys Smith. Miss Anne Lidster, and Miss Margaret Nicholls. The two elder bridesmaids wore gowns of turquoise, silk net over crepe-de-Chine with Juliet caps and carried Victorian posies of forget-me-nots, while the younger maid wore shell pink crepe-de-Chine with latticed Juliet cap and carried Victorian posies of primroses. The bridegroom’s gifts to bridesmaids were necklaces and silver identification bracelets. Mr. O. Willis was best man and the groomsmen were Mr. G. Mower and Master Donald K. Townend.

The honeymoon is being spent at St. Anne’s, the bride travelling in a tailored tweed costume with n—-r brown accessories and a fox fur (gift of the bridegroom). The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a silver cigarette case.

For a number of years the bridegroom was cross-bearer and server at Wath Parish Church, and is chief chemist to the Nunnery Coke and Gas Co.. Sheffield, and an associate in Fuel Technology of Sheffield University.

The couple were presented with a Royal Doulton afternoon tea service from the managers and staff of Nunnery Coke and Gas Co., Ltd., and an oak dinner wagon by the bride’s employer.
