Miss Edith Rawlinson, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Rawlinson, 17, Burman Road, Wath-on-Dearne, was married at Wath Parish Church on Saturday to Mr. Arnold Lightley, only son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Lightley, ” Fernley,” Chapel Street, Wath-on-Dearne. The Vicar of Wath, the Rev. Bertram Russell, officiated.
The best man was Mr. Frederick Simms and the groomsman Mr. Bernard Donnelly. The bride, given away by her father, wore a gown of white satin beaute in Tudor style, with embroidered veil, and wreath of orange blossom. She carried pink roses.
Her bridesmaids, Miss Rhoda Rawlinson (sister), and Miss Norah Hallworth, were in blue floral taffeta with floral headdresses and shoulder veils, and carried pink carnations.
The bride’s mother was in electric blue, with navy hat and coat, and spray of pink carnations. The bridegroom’s mother wore a black and white ensemble, with a spray of white carnations.
A reception’ was held at the Adult Schoolroom.
