Miss Kathleen Redfearn, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs J. Redfearn, of “Burntcroft,” Manor Road, Brampton, was married at Cortonwood Methodist Church on Saturday to Mr. Leslie Coldwell, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Coldweil, “Mytholm House,” Brampton.

The bride has been an active member the Cortonwood Church and treasurer of the young people’s class. The bridegroom is on the staff of Humber and Hillman, Ltd., of Coventry, and was recently appointed to a post in the firm’s London office. He is the secretary of the Humber-Hillman men’s hockey section.

The wedding ceremony was conducted by the Rev. G. T. Eddy, Tunbridge Wells, a friend, and the Rev. G. Hodden. Mr. G. Sheldon was organist and “O Perfect Love” was sung.

The bride, given away by her father, wore a Swiss gown in honey-coloured marocain with brown accessories and a Canadian fox fur. She wore a spray of violets and friesias.

Miss Betty Jones, the bridesmaid, wore a multi-coloured Japanese silk dress and details to match, including a ribbon halo toning with the dress; she carried a bouquet of anemones. From the bridegroom she received a handbag. The best man was Mr. H. Wilcox, of Rawmarsh.

A reception was held at the bride’s home, her mother wearing a navy blue two-piece suit and the bridegroom’s mother a turquoise blue gown under a musquash coat. The honeymoon is being spent motoring in North Wales.

Included among the presents was a pewter teapot, cream jug and sugar basin from the Young People’s class of Cortonwood Methodist Church; a fireside chair from the Humber-Hillman Service Dept. Staff: a brass letter rack from Taylors Chemists, Mexborough, where the bride was first assistant and dispenser: and an oak table from the employees of Messrs. Redfearn and Shaw.
