Wedding – Robinson & Schofield.
The marriage of Miss. J. P. Robinson and Mr W. M. Schofield took place on the Wednesday at Wath Parish Church, and was of considerable interest to a large circle of friends throughout the district.
The bridegroom, who is the second son of the late Mr C. T. And Mrs Robinson, of Weston-super-Mare, is managing director of J. P. Robinson and Son, fish and ice merchants. Grimsby. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Schofield, Park Road, Wath-on-Dearne, and is a trained nurse, holding the post of Sister at Grimsby Infirmary. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. E. W. Bartholomew, and suitable music was rendered by Mr. G. M. Coates.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in midnight blue georgette, trimmed with lace to tone, and wore a hat to match, carrying a shower bouquet of pink carnations. The bridesmaid, Miss Vera Vollans (cousin) was attired in pink georgette with crinoline hat, and carried a bouquet of sunburnt roses. The gift of the bridegroom to the bride was a gold pendant, set with aquamarines, and the gilt of the bride to the bridegroom was a fitted travelling case. The bridegroom’s gift to the bridesmaid was a gold and platinum ring set with diamonds.
Afterwards a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The guests were received by the bride’s mother, who was attired in a green floral crepe de chine gown with lace coatee. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. F. M. Schofield, brother of the bride, and Mr. Ralph Vollans, of Barnsley, acted as groomsman. The bridegroom’s mother was unable to attend owing to illness.
After the reception the bride and bridegroom left for a honeymoon tour of the Wye Valley, and on their return they will take up residence at Grimsby.
