Mr S.A.Wood (Wath) and Miss E Taylor (Wath)

On Saturday at Wath Parish Church, the marriage was solemnised of Miss Evelina Taylor, eldest daughter of of Mr and Mrs H Taylor, of 27, Oak Road, Wath and Mr Samuel Arthur Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Wood, of 12, Avenue Road, Wath.

The Vicar of Wath officiated. The service was choral. Mr. Alec Parker being organist.

Given away by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin gown cut on classical lines with a veil of net held by a wreath of orange blossom. She carried cream roses.

The bridesmaids. Miss Irene Taylor, the bride’s sister, and Miss Lily Wood, the bridegroom’s sister, wore gowns of pale mauve lace over taffeta with satin sashes and head-dreases of cream roses and anemones. The maids, who received silver necklaces from the bridegroom, carried pink carnations.

Mr. Norman Wood was best man and the groomsman was Mr. Philip Taylor.
