Well Done, Wath!

Well Done, Wath!

Wath Council have given a commendable lead to the district in establishing a British Restaurant in the town.

Wombwell, of course, were ahead of them, but at Wombwell, I believe, there are no facilities for eating meals on the spot. The representatives of other neighbouring authorities who attended Monday’s opening ceremony could hardly fail to he impressed with what they saw.

There was an atmosphere of spaciousness about the Restaurant which greatly added to its attractiveness. Good use had been made of the accommodation available, and it now remains for the people of Wath to make a success of the undertaking by making full use of it. The more use made of the facilities the cheaper they will become.

From kitchen sink to dining table everything has been most hygienically laid out and in such airy and spacious quarters the staff will work under the best conditions.

Monday’s meal (an honest sample of every day fare, not a special repast put on merely to impress the visitors), was well cooked, deftly served, and in every way a splendid advertisement for a valuable war-time service.
