Awaiting Engagement
Among the players granted free transferred by Barnsley is Arthur Burton, the goalkeeper from West Melton.
He is in distinguished company for on the same list is Joe Halliwell, the clever utility man who went through to Barnsley from Preston.
Burton has not made history with Barnsley but he is a player whose talents have not yet been fully developed and he should have a successful future. While with Barnsley he has appeared with the second team and has never let his side down. He would be an acquisition to any Midland league club.
He is not yet 21 years old and stand 6’2” and is built in proportion.
He is always trained to the minute. He played cricket with West Melton Wesleyan last season when they won the Wombwell Sunday School Cricket League championship.
