West Melton Man Dies at Cortonwood

At an inquest at Wath-on-Dearne on Saturday on John Edward Woodger (30), who met his death at Cortonwood Colliery, the father, John Edward Woodger, of Oakleigh Avenue, West Melton, said he was pushing one tub and his son pulling another, when he heard crash.

He shouted “Are you there,” and got answer.

The jury returned a verdict of ‘‘Accidental death,” the cause of death being suffocation and internal injuries.
