For using threats to Judith Baynham, Albert Thorpe appeared to answer a charge on Monday.
Plaintiff, who lives at West Melton, said defendant cursed her and threatened and she went in bodily fear of her life. She called Fred Smith and his wife, who corroborated as to the unhappy differences in York street.
Defendant stated that the women had always been bitter against him. All he wanted was to live quietly, and to be “at peace with everybody. He produced a very favourable character from his late landlord.
The Bench, after an admonition to all, dismissed the case.
