At Castleford. Castleford and Denaby were at full strength, and the home eleven had first turn at the wickets. Kirton, going in the fall of second wicket, was last out for 47. Creasey had four wickets for 33 and Shoesmith six for 55.
The Denaby innings was marked by lively partnership between Shoesmith (33) and Widdowson (20), the latter obtaining two sixes in one over off Rob Shaw. The visitors made a brave struggle, but were defeated by 41 runs

J Morris scored 78, E Humphreys 34 and L Coates was not out for 42 for Wath.

This home match attracted a large “gate closed quotes and provided interest in cricket throughout its progress. Although the “gate” was a free one owing to the present industrial trouble, a collection was taken, but of course, this did not realise anything in comparison with what this turnstiles would have shown.
Batting first Bentley run at the large score of 187.
When the athletic entered on their innings they did not take risk by forcing the game. With the score at 147, the Wath innings was brought to a close by time intervening, just as both batsmen, appeared settle down to their work. J Morris was 52 not out and C Turner 16 not out.

Hickleton Main 102 for 4 Swinton 231
At Thurnscoe.
Swinton gave an excellent batting display on a perfect wicket. Gregory, the Swinton professional, distinguished himself with the bat and ball taking three for 18 and scoring 83 not out. Hickleton were given 90 minutes to bat, and thanks to a dogged defence by the veterans, Williamson and Senior, had no difficulty in effecting a draw. Williamson scored 40 and Senior 33.
Mexborough 145 for 6 Rotherham 141
Played at Mexborough. For Mexborough Richards took seven for 52.
Gates brown top scored with 48 for Rotherham and Doctor Coombe scored 34 and D Elliott 32 for Mexborough.

At Wombwell Main. Lakin bowled with astonishing effect, taking eight for 15 and doing the “hat-trick.”
Darfield 69 for 8 Brampton 54
For Darfield, J Needham took seven for 15. G Woodcock scored 31 for Darfield.

At Wombwell. B Kaye scored 68 and J Kaye 76 for the hosts. T Robinson top scored with 54 Hickleton. C Hughes (27 not out) and H Senior (23 not out) secured the draw for Hickleton

At Thorncliffe on Whit Monday. For Swinton F Pearce took five for 18 and G Gregory five for 24. For Thorncliffe A.W. Brown took six for 24.
