Yorkshireman on Parade

Lieut.-Gen. Sir Riger Bower. K.B.E., C.B., G.O.C. Malaya Command, recently presented Cpl. Stan Lidster, of Wath-on-Dearne, his Air dispatcher’s Badge. The Badge has recently been approved by H.M. the Queen, and a parade was held in Kuala Lumpur at which the G.O.C. presented badges to men of , 55 Company’ R.A.S.C. (Air Despatch).

The award of the badge has given great pleasure to all the Security Forces in Malaya, who, to so large an extent, depend for their existence in the jungle on the devoted and often hazardous supply dropping work carried out by the R.A.S.C. Air Despatchers and the R.A.F. aircrews.

Cpl. Lidster—a veteran of 227 operational supply dropping missions in Malaya —holds the record for his Company.
