Bearskin at School

April 1953

South Yorkshire Times, April 18, 1953

How many boys of six go to school wearing a full size bearskin?

Not many, if any. But there is one exception, Frank Hartley, of 4, Top Yard, Packman Road, West Melton, a pupil of Brampton Ellis School, here looking very smart in his headgear.

When a reporter asked him where he got it, he said, “A mister gave it to my daddy; my Daddy doesn’t wear it, so I do!”
