Two photographs of an interesting little ceremony which took place last Friday at Brampton Bierlow.

In the lower photograph, Mr. H. A. Swiss, headmaster of the Brampton Bierlow School, is cutting the first sod of the new school which the Ellis Trustees all building.to provide the increased accommodation required by the development of the district.

In the first photograph are on the left, Mrs. Swiss, who is preparing to perform a similar ceremony. In the centre of the photograph are Mr. F. J. Taylor, representing the contractors, William Johnson and Sons, Wombwell; Mr C.F. Moxon (representing the solicitors of the Trustees), and the Rev. C. L. Suggitt, vicar of Brampton Bierlow, a Manager at the schools.

below, Mr. C. F. Moxon, the architect, presenting a wristlet watch to Mrs. Swiss as a memento of the occasion.
