Old footballers would in Wath would regret to hear of the death of “Dicky” Shaw, manager of Selby Town F.C., members of the Yorkshire League.

“Dick’ was star’ inside-left for Wath Athletic in the early twenties and brought out such players as Eric Brook, ‘Tiny’ Wilkinson and Jack Ball in addition to many more who made the top grade. “Dick’ was also a member of the Mexborough Athletic team that won the Midland League championship.
