Obituary – Mr. Thomas Fines Atkinson

Mr Atkinson of Bircle Dene, Campsall Fields Road, Wath-on-Dearne, who died on Tuesday. May 13th at the age of 69, was for 40 years works foreman to Wath, Bolton and Thurnscoe Joint Gas Board

Mr. Atkinson was born in Castleford and took up his appointment with the Gas Board when he came to Wath on his marriage. Mrs. Atkinson died in March, 1942. Mr. Atkinson retired four years ago.

He had been keenly interested in Wath Theatre Club, of which his daughter, Miss M. Atkinson, a member of the teaching staff of Brampton Ellis Infants’ School, is a well-known member. He leaves two sons and a daughter.

The funeral took place at Wath Cemetery on Friday.
