A First Army Man

Gunner William Lidster (21), eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Lidster, of 127, Avenue Road, Wath, was a member of the Territorials called to regular service in July, 1939. He has been with First Army in North Africa since the early part of the North African campaign.

He was employed at Manvers Main Colliery where he had worked since leaving Park Road School. He is a former member of Gore Hill Methodist Church Boys’ Brigade.
