Wath Soldiers Who Have Made the Supreme Sacrifice

Edgar Waddington

Private Edgar Waddington, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Waddington, Cadman Street, Wath, has also died of severe wounds in France on October 9.

This young man was 23 years of age, and at the outbreak of the war was employed at Messrs E.Smith & Sons, drapers, West Melton.

He has an older brother also on active service in France, with the R.F.A.. They are second cousins of the W Waddington, and were Sunday school teachers of the Wesleyan Church.

Edgar was formerly in a Hussar regiment, but was transferred to the Northumberland Fusiliers.
