Dived For Child

Mrs. G. Yates, of 32, High Street, West Melton, has received word this week from her husband, Sergt. Hy Yates, (31), a prisoner of war in Germany, that he was recently presented with 50 marks for diving for half an hour in a deep pond to save the life of a German boy.

Sgt. Yates, who is 31, has been a prisoner for over four years.  While at the camp he has also won a welter-weight boxing championship.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Yates of 36, Oaklea Avenue, West Melton, Sgt. and Mrs. Yates have two children.
