Wath Boy is “mentioned” in Dispatches

Park Road Modern School boy, Keith Scothern was “mentioned” in Saturday evening’s sport dispatches for impressive work with Yorkshire boys in the Roses match at Egerton Park Denton

Dependable batsman, useful bowler and good fielder. Keith took three grand catches. A spectacular dive left its Lancashire mark on Keith’s shirt! Said his mother this week. “I’ll have to scrub that!”

Keith is very proud of his county cap and the Scotherns (Mr. and Mrs. J., 123, Sandymount Road. Wath-on-Dearne) are justly proud of their 15-year-old second son, who also plays soccer for Don and Dearne boys.
